and water running down inside of leg into dressing, is VERY bad for the long term health of the foot.
so he's now in, until we either know we get a consistent dry spell, or i can be reasonably sure the abcess is sorted, whichever comes first.
possibly wouldn't have been so bad if he'd still been in Hall Field, where the grass is very short, but he isn't ......
if you can imagine, a disposable nappy totally soaked through encasing the foot?
not good...
i didn't even do hot poultice, just dry dressing....
How frustrating. Hope he is OK about being in. Although, if it's raining, he might actually appreciate the comfort of a stall. Poor boy..and poor you.
ReplyDeletePoor boy but keeping the foot dry is definitely a good idea even if movement is also good for abscesses. Perhaps you can hand walk?
ReplyDeleteHomoeopathic Silica is good for abscesses and arnica is good for dealing with any bruising.
Hope he's better soon.
