thanks all for positive comments on my last post....
Will have to acquire more money than I currently have, I think - currently the budget doesn't stretch to a Dales, i don't think ... unless one pops up from somewhere unexpectedly!
No experience but they seem nice,I love Highlands tho. Lady at the top of our lane has a few and shows them they troop past on hacks and I just love the look of them! There is a cob advertised at the local tack shop I spotted today Claire he might be of interest to you? 15'1 owner says she has weekly lessons and done a little bit of everything with him, said he's not the most confident but fine with a confident rider.I just skim read the ad but thought of you when I saw him he looked very pretty £1200
I hope your wrist heals up nicely (mine did), and that you find a new horse after your heart. I second the opinion that you take contact with Helen at http://helen-heroesanddragons.blogspot.com/ if you are looking into Dales. I am sure she would be happy to have a Dales-dicussion with a fellow blogger!
I actually managed to do it while leading my horse, not sitting on top, lol!
It was in December and I was walking Fame home from a training. Part of the ground was icy, and it had been a slight snowfall so that in front of me I had a section of ice powdered with a thin layer of snow. Suddenly my legs just disappeared under me, and when landing I took all of my weight on my left arm. I did hurt, but I had to mount Fame again to cross the river and to get home. Back in the stable my friend convinced me that I needed to see a doctor, and it turned out that the wrist was broken. It was a clean break though, and I did not need to operate. What was an extra bonus was that it happened just before Christmas, so my husband got to do all the cleaning, hehe!!!
