should change the title...

to, perhaps, my whatever number it is car? i've had a fair few of those, of course... and will have partner take me round to look at automatics at the weekend.

i suppose i'll have a better notion on potential recovery after seeing the physio on Thursday.

that huge horse shaped hole in life is amazingly large, you know....

  1. Well, unfortunately, the car comes before the horse this time. You certainly can't take care of a four legged beastie without a four tired one to get you there.

    Good luck on all fronts.

  2. Being able to get around will change your outlook dramatically. So I hope you find a car soon. Then soon after that you will find a horse/instructor pair for lunging. I would do it if I was there! Then you can start looking for an automatic horse. Most of them are manual but I bet there are a few that are automatics.

  3. All is crossed that you find a suitable auto very soon (am on the same hunt myself at the moment!). i agree, finding a means of getting around will help enormously, a huge step in the right direction.

And you know, there's plenty not to miss about having ponies who need to be worked, at this time of year...the clipping and trying not to get short jaggy hairs everywhere, mud (wet and dry!), horrible dank weather, handling heavy wet rugs, spending more money on feed, manky hooves, getting a face full of dirty bedding as you tip the barrow onto the muckheap in a gale, having the rain battering in your ears on a hack, that horrible moment where you feel a rush of cold dirty water in your holey welly. getting said welly stuck in mud and not realising until you are ankle deep in mud with your favourite cosy sock now all gloopy... :)

  4. New car is something to get excited about!

I agree Danni,if there was ever a time to be out of action the winter is it!
Says she who spent the afternoon pushing a barrow around a muddy field and getting covered in green horse poo as I tried to empty the tub trug, half of which went all over me!!

  5. I forgot to add the bit where I was wrangling a wet bale of haylage in the rain, and failed to grip it in any real way so had to scuttle along with it making my jeans wet and dirty! And I swear horse poop is drawn to clean clothes in some way...

    Aren't horses fun?!
