monfils monfils

is my fifth horse

that's the bay i linked to earlier.

broke all the rules - didn't get on (frankly, it was far too treacherous, and even though trainer did, it was pointless!) and haven't had him vetted. and didn't take any photos, we were all doing well to stand up, let alone remember to take phone out of other jacket pocket and out to frozen field!

but really nice person.

good as gold in box, good as gold to tack up.

now to organise transport, sort out stable/feed, and fingers crossed it doesn't snow any more on north yorkshire!

  5. Oh, my goodness...you bought Tucker!! Told you I was a sucker for bay Thorougbreds. I'm a bit surprised that you broke the rules, but then again, that's how I got Chance. Wishing you the same success I've had.

Sounds like love at first sight to me. *G*

  8. Clearly you are ready for your next horse and didn't want to wait. Sometimes you just know. If all they say is true, and so far that appears to be the case, then he will be good to you, and you will have a lot of fun getting to know him.

Now as far as the snow goes, well, I am wishing you luck. Dave and I were just saying that we are glad that we are not trying to fly out or into the UK this Christmas season.

  9. I found my Russell through a recommendation from my vet. He knew the dealer and told me he was honest. Russell and I were a match made in heaven. Here's hoping the same will be fore Monfils and you. Monfils Monfils is a curious name. Any idea as to the source?

  10. Jean - not really, but i gather he started his racing career in France, so i guess that's relevant! google shows, currently, a tennis player & a politician of that name, and translated it is "my son my son" ... so who knows!
