You'll be able to do a lot of things, even with your wrist in a cast. Of course, riding is out of the question, and cleaning stalls/wheelbarrowing things around is not possible.
Eight weeks seems like a long time now, but the time will pass pretty quickly as long as you don't dwell on it. Just distract yourself with as many things you can do as possible.
The big thing is to not get annoyed by your handicap. When I couldn't use my left hand--broken wrist from falling off PJ--I tried to look at it as a challenge, figuring out how I could do things one handed and normally took two.
AND it does give you an appreciate for how permanently disabled people must face the world. It might even be a plus adding to your lawyer perspective on the cases you deal with.
